NCCC Michigan Trip

MI trip

While the first full week of December typically means Christmas decorating and preparing for the upcoming holidays, it meant a week of traveling through the state of Michigan for the men in the Camp office, promoting the opportunities at Northland Camp.

Over the six-day period, Rob, Kevin, Aaron, and Paul met with dozens of pastors and leaders all across the state and had several opportunities to serve in some of their ministries. On Wednesday night, Aaron and Rob led the youth group at First Baptist Church in Lapeer, MI. Pastor David Crabb served on summer staff at Northland Camp a few years ago, and we consider him a great friend of our ministry. In the Detroit area, Kevin and Paul led the youth meeting at Grace Baptist Church in Hamtramck. It was exciting to see how God has used Jay and Kristin Searcy to plant this church and show Christ's love to the people of this community. Learn more about their ministry by clicking here. On Friday Kevin and Paul led a special school chapel at Wixom Christian School. We're thankful for Pastor Brad Stille and the staff God has provided in that ministry. It was especially exciting to see so many students enthusiastic about camp.

On Saturday night all four guys traveled to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Belleville to serve with one of our closest friends, Pastor Jason Crawford. Summer staff members Titus Scott and Brett Sanders joined us to organize and run teen and junior events at the church that evening. Jason had themed the event "Northland Camp comes to Belleville," so we did the best we could to show the juniors and teens what to expect when they come to Pioneer Village and Teen Camp this summer.

MI Trip 3

In between these specific ministry events, we spent a lot of time talking, laughing, eating, playing football, and praying with several pastors all across the state. If we missed you this trip and you're interested in getting together the next time we're through Michigan, please contact the camp office.
