Summer Camp update
Dear Friends and Supporters,
The energy and resource needed to get ready for summer camp are the focus and staple of the off-season. This includes recruitment, registration, marketing, maintenance, program development, and so much more! Every camp in America is ready on Memorial Day for the long-awaited summer camp, the anchor of the camping program, with its decades-long traditions and people-impacting emphasis.
Northland Camp is part of the wonderful narrative for so many people that attended and served here since 1959.
Nothing is going to get in the way of summer camp, right? Then, Covid-19! . . . and, all its implications, still yet unknown for summer camps!
Consequently, many discussions with health/government officials as well as legal and camp professionals have provided substantial data.
It is with a heavy heart that Northland Camp will have to cancel all events up until June 27. And then, guardedly we move forward! After June 27, we certainly would enact all of the safety guidelines recommended by the appropriate agencies.
At this point, with consensus from the board of directors and the camp leadership team, we believe we cannot provide campers with the Northland camp experience and still abide by local, state, and federal guidelines.
Our staff will connect with you throughout this timeframe and continue to work in advance of your arrival, support, and future engagement. We take encouragement these days from the Word of God. In Isaiah 26:4, “Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.”
Let us all rejoice in the wonderful experiences and life changes that Northland Camp has brought to tens of thousands of people since its inception; and might we see the camping season continue in the coming days.
